It’s All in the Details…

I know this should be a fishing report, and yesterday we did tear it up on the reef. Not so much offshore, but when anglers request action, we deliver. Grouper, Snapper, Macheral, Barracuda, and big Jacks certainly bend a rod and repeatedly!
My personal accomplishment in the boatyard was turning the boats’ first impression from embarassing to bright and shiney!
Here are before and after pictures of the stern of the ABSOLUT. It may not seem like much, but it is the first impression when you see the boat. I spent two days painting, sanding, and painting again to get the fiberglass smooth like it came from the factory. I picked up the new artwork from the printer with only 26 minutes before the yard was to splash the boat. I marked off the center of the graphic, sprayed it down, and slapped the graphic up on the new paint. I didn’t have a squee-gee, so at the last minute, I grabbed my AARP card from my wallet. Scraping out the bubbles and getting the last of the wrinkles out, I removed the backing paper and VOILA, like it came from the factory. Nothing to be ashamed of at the dock anymore :)
